EU Programme "Europe for Citizens" 2014-2020

The objective of this EU funding program is to raise the awareness of the European history and strengthen remembrance and to enhance civic participation at EU level. The budget for the 7-year runtime is 186 million Euro.

Public bodies or non-profit organisations can apply for the following two types of support:

  • Action grants – for actions with a limited lifetime during which proposed specific activities are implemented
  • Operating grants – providing financial support for regular and usual activities of an organisation

Types of activities:

  • Citizens' meetings, town twinning
  • Transnational partnerships and networks
  • Organizations of general European interest
  • Debates/studies on European history, particularly Nazism and Stalinism, or on topics related to citizenship and civic involvement
  • Reflections on common values
  • Initiatives aimed at the EU bodies and how they operate
